BEARING WITNESS

A Project of Remembrance by You, Only Virtual

“For the dead and the living, we must bear witness. For not only are we responsible for the memories

of the dead, we are also responsible for what we are doing with those memories”

- Elie Wiesel

ABOUT BEARING WITNESS

The voices of Holocaust Survivors are among the most powerful testaments to resilience and the cost of hatred. Yet, with each passing year, fewer remain to share their stories in person. Bearing Witness is a project dedicated to ensuring those voices are never silenced. At the heart of this mission are Versonas-digital representations that capture a person’s unique voice, personality, and way of communicating.

Powered by YOV Immersion technology, Survivor Versonas allow visitors to engage in real conversations: to ask questions, to hear stories, and to experience authentic human connection long after Survivors are gone. These encounters preserve not only history, but humanity, wisdom, and individuality that textbooks and archives alone cannot convey.

As the last Survivors pass away, we face a critical moment. The responsibility to carry their stories forward now rests with us. Bearing Witness seeks to place immersive experiences in Holocaust memorials, museums, and community centers around the world-so that future generations can meet the people behind the history and feel the enduring weight of their testimony.

Memory is not enough. It must be shared. It must be lived. It must be witnessed.

Join us in ensuring Survivor's voices continue to speak-for the dead, for the living, and for the generations yet to come.

VERSONA TECHNOLOGY

YOV’s proprietary Essence Generation Platform builds Versonas by analyzing Survivor interviews, recordings, and archives to capture their authentic voice, personality, and communication style. Unlike static testimony, a Versona responds in real time-bringing history to life through natural, human-like dialogue.

In an Immersion system, this technology is deployed in a museum-ready installation. Visitors sit face-to-face with a survivor’s digital presence, ask questions, and receive thoughtful answers drawn directly from the survivor’s lived experience. The effect is deeply personal: a conversation that feels alive, even when the individual is no longer with us.

Immersion systems are designed to:

  • Deliver lifelike, interactive dialogue in the survivor’s own voice and manner

  • Create an intimate, one-to-one storytelling experience for visitors

  • Scale from kiosk-style exhibits to large, multi-screen installations

  • Ensure secure, long-term preservation of survivor testimonies

The result is a powerful blend of history and technology-ensuring that survivor voices remain present, accessible, and impactful for generations.
